If someone is dying of thirst, how precious even a drop of water would be. For one who is starving, how welcome even a stale piece of bread would be. How much more appealing would the gift of abundant life offered by Jesus Christ (John 10:10) be to one who is merely existing – who has no purpose in life! How much more appealing would this gift of eternal life (John 3:16) be to one who is gripped in the deathly throes of sin! Surely the response to this light of life would be a unanimous acceptance?! But no, dear friend, that is not the case.
In this sermon, I unpack the two responses to the Saviour; the two camps that exist viz. Those that reject Him and those that receive Him.
Listen along (by clicking player below) as we consider this question, and the various opinions held concerning the Christ (I preached this sermon at St John’s Lutheran Church on Sunday 21st February 2016). God bless you!
